Co-Working Spaces Help Foster Entrepreneurship

This is a follow-up to the last blog I wrote about open or communal workspaces. My thought was that open workspaces available to work at home employees will become common place. I also feel having these workspaces available could foster job growth in the market.

Recently an article published on KCRG’s website highlighted some similar themes. KCRG is the ABC affiliate Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.

Iowa City now has its first open space facility available to anyone who wants to work there…. for a fee. The feeling there is that the Open Space Facility is fostering entrepreneurship, making it easier for small and medium size companies to grow.

However, it’s also clear that having the facility available enables organizations from outside the market to hire good employees. In this cast the employee highlighted in the article works for the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University in Rhode Island.

You can read the article by clicking on this link. I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to your feedback.
